Family members and relationships

Relatives: uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, a cousin, cousins. In-laws: parents in laws, father in-law, mother in-law, brother in-law and sister in-law.

Marital status: be married – be single – be divorced – be widowed – be an only child– be twins.
My sister is single but I am married.

Practice this possessive form:

PREPOSITIONS OF TIME: IN – ON –AT:
- When is the concert? / What time is the movie?

When is Halloween? When’s our English class?

àIn English, we use IN with:
Months: Halloween is in October.
Years: Columbus came to America in 1492.
Seasons: It is hot in the summer but it is cold in the winter. ( in the spring, in the autumn/fall).
Parts of the day: Our English class in the morning. Our English class is in the evening. I have lunch in the afternoon.

à In English, we use ON with:
Days of the week: Our English class on Monday.
Our next class is on Tuesday morning.
Dates: Our next class is on Friday 7th May.
Christmas is on December 24th.


What time is our English class?

à In English, we use AT with:
Hours: Our English class is at 10:30 AM
We have lunch at noon.
The party finished at midnight.
My sister calls me at night every day.
